Myra Tinsley was born in Corpus Christi, TX. Her youth was spent in various cities across Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. Myra studied commercial art formally and worked as a fashion illustrator for many years in Dallas and Fort Worth.
Myra's greatest desire was to paint event during her years in fashion. After many years she realized her desire for painting was to great to go on with commercial art and in 1980 decided to pursue her first love intensely.
At a very early age Myra's sensitivity for design and color was apparent. From early youth the splendor of nature and the beauty of the human form inspired her to sketch and paint. Today, Myra continues to be fascinated with nature's perfection. She takes great pleasure in the study of women and children, often used as the subjects of her paintings. Through these subjects she conveys innocence, grace, and purity. Myra's keen awareness and sensitivity allow her to paint with great passion and devotion.
Myra lives and maintains a studio in Fort Worth, Texas. She works five to six days per week, approximately eight hours per day, depending on the light. Totally dedicated to impressionism in theory and technique, Myra produces works sought after by corporate and individual collectors of diverse backgrounds.
